Dr Stuart Geldenhuys’s philosophy centres on personal care. His inherent compassion has given him a deep understanding of the value of attentive communication and patient/doctor trust.

Staying current with new trends and advances in the field of plastic surgery is an integral part of Dr Geldenhuys’s work, and it means that he is able to offer his patients cutting-edge techniques that have been proven effective and are able to deliver predictable and natural results.

His skills are updated regularly, and he undergoes continual professional re-accreditation.

Accreditation and experience
After his internship Dr Geldenhuys spent some time working in the UK as Senior House Officer, before returning to South Africa and taking up the post of Registrar: General Surgery at the University of Cape Town, and subsequently Registrar: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; this culminated in his board certification – FCS (SA) Plast in 2003.

He was appointed as the Senior Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town in 2003 and left this post in April 2006 to concentrate on his private practice. He maintains an interest at Groote Schuur Hospital as a part-time consultant involved in major reconstructions and the tuition of cosmetic surgical procedures.

Since Dr Geldenhuys’s acceptance as a fellow of The Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa in 2003, he has been in private practice, involved principally in cosmetic surgery. His practice forms part of the prestigious Renaissance Surgical Clinic in Bree Street, Cape Town.

Dr Geldenhuys’s interests lie primarily in breast and facial cosmetic surgery; he has a special interest in the management of melanoma, and breast reconstruction.

Dr Stuart Geldenhuys is:
• A Full Member of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa
• Registered as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• A Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa
• Registered as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with the South African Medical Association
• A member of the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom
